Rules & Policies

🐾 The Dog Watchers – Boarding and Daycare Rules & Policies

Spay/Neuter Policy

All dogs over 6 months of age must be spayed or neutered to participate in daycare or boarding services. This policy helps us maintain a safe and harmonious environment during group play and shared spaces.

Age Requirements

All dogs must be at least 4 months old to attend daycare or boarding. This ensures that all guests are properly vaccinated and developmentally ready for a group care setting.

Evaluation Encounter

All dogs must pass a temperament assessment prior to their first visit. This is called The Evaluation Encounter and includes a short stay and behavioral screening by our trained staff. Evaluations must be scheduled in advance.

Behavioral Policy

We are unable to accept dogs with a history of human-directed aggression or dogs who display reactive behavior toward staff or other guests. We reserve the right to deny services if we determine that a dog is not a good fit for our environment.

Medication Administration

We are happy to administer most oral or topical medications up to 5 times per day as part of select boarding tiers. However, we do not administer injections. Please ensure medications are clearly labeled with dosage instructions.

Each suite and crate is cleaned and maintained by our staff.

House food is available for an additional fee (only when owner-provided food is unavailable).

Clean water is provided at all times.

Food:  Please bring enough of your dog’s regular food to last the duration of their stay. Guests are served breakfast and dinner. There is no need to pre-portion, although you may do so if you prefer.

Optional Items: You may send toys, treats, beds, or blankets. However, please use discretion—items may be chewed, soiled, or damaged during your dog’s stay.

Label all items clearly with your dog’s name. The Dog Watchers is not responsible for lost or damaged personal belongings.

All dogs must be up to date on vaccinations appropriate for their age, as verified by veterinary records, prior to any service. Required vaccines include:

  • Rabies
  • Bordetella (kennel cough)
  • DHLPP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Leptospirosis, Parainfluenza, Parvovirus)

Proof of vaccination must be submitted prior to your pet's first visit and kept up to date thereafter.

  • Reservations are required for all services.
  • Drop-off and pick-up must occur during the posted business hours.
  • Staff wellness monitoring is conducted throughout each dog's stay.
  • Late pickups may result in additional fees.

If you have any questions or require clarification on our policies, please do not hesitate to contact us. We’re here to help you and your pup have the best possible experience with The Dog Watchers.
